You can have a summer barbecue without having fruit salads. Fruit salads are a great combo of healthy and sweet in the same bowl. As we all know having both healthy and sweet in the same bowl rarely happens. That’s why fruit salads are widely loved. They are easy to make and delicious too.

Although they might be easy to make there are different recipes and you might find it hard to choose the best one. Well, look no further because I’m about to teach you one of the best fruit salad recipes for your summer.


To start this recipe the first thing you need to choose what fruits you want to use. If you are making it just for you and you alone then pick out choose the fruits that will give you a flavor you love. If you are making it for a party or a family gathering then take into consideration what people in your family like and dislike. After you are done deciding which fruits you want for your salad go out and chop for them. Make sure to get fresh fruits because you don’t want to have your fruit salad tasting off. The best choice would be to get all your fruits fresh from your local farmer’s market. A standard fruit salad option would be

The next step is gathering the remaining ingredients

. Lime juice

. Lemon juice

. Vanilla (optional)

. Maple syrup

Now that you have all your ingredients it’s time to make the salad dressing. In a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of lemon juice, one tablespoon of lime juice, one teaspoon of maple syrup, half teaspoon of grated ginger, and a little bit of salt to your taste.

Now in a larger bowl add your strawberries, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, and cherries. This step is dependent on what fruit you like and chooses to use. You can sub out the one either you or your family don’t like and add your favorites.

Pour the dressing you made earlier on into the same bowl as the fruit. You can add vanilla if you plan to use some but that part is also optional. Finish by garnishing it with basil. You can serve it directly like that or you can put it in the fridge for 4-6 hours. It’s best you make the fruit salad and serve it on the same day to make it taste fresh. If you want to serve it on a different day make sure the day you made it and the day you want to serve it are not too spaced apart. Leaving it in the fridge for too long can make the fruits taste weak.
